October Icomleavwe

Hello to all the icomleavweers. This is my first time participating, and unfortunately it fell on very busy part of the week. So, I have to make this shorter than I'd like, and I won't be able to do my postings until 2-marrow, as I am swamped with work and to top it off, my internet was out for two hours this morning, which has put me even more behind with work.

Here is how I began my IF adventure

As of today, my first IVF cycle was cancelled last week after 21 day of lupron and two days of follistim, due to an endometrial polyp. Now, I'm waiting for the evil AF to show, so I can schedule another polypectomy and then hopefully begin another cycle of IVF.

I am grateful for everyone's comments, concerns, and well wishes. It has helped me more than you know. It seems whenever I mention IVF to anyone I know, they instantly get quiet and change the subject. Which stinks, because talking about it makes me feel so much better, like I have a voice and people want to hear it. Thank you everyone for that!

  1. I hear ya!! I've had the same reaction from people, over and over again...it can be devastating because you NEED caring people IRL that you can talk to. That's why this community has personally been such a big blessing to me.

I'm so sorry about your recently cancelled cycle. Praying your AF shows soon so you can take your next steps.

  3. I have the same reaction from people just talking about infertility, I can't imagine how quickly they clam up when IVF is brought up. It sucks doesn't it...I so badly want other people to get what I'm going through but it seems like they can't or won't try to understand. And it makes all of this so much worse.

Sorry to hear about the canceled cycle.

  5. I'm so sorry about your cycle getting cancelled. Sucks. I hope they can get round 2 scheduled soon.

DH and I are stimming now for IVF#1 and I turned 36 the day before you. Small world! (Yep, I'm feeling ancient in TTC terms.)

    Good luck!

  6. I am so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle. I had my first IVF cancelled last month, too, because of severe OHSS. I was so frustrated. I hate all the waiting!

I hope that your polypectomy goes smoothly and you get to start IVF again very soon!

  10. People in general don't know how to respond to infertility. That's what is so great about blogs and the internet in general. Sorry about the canceled cycle and good luck on the next one.

  11. Bummer you've had a delay! It's amazing how we learn to roll with these things. Days turn into weeks...weeks turn into months....etc.. but we're going to get there! Wishing you all the best.

And, I agree on the friend thing. The blogging community is really helping me. As my therapist says (also really helping me), when people get quiet it's because they are uncomfortable with the topic, and has nothing to do with you. I probably would have been a terrible audience before I knew what all of this was like. In any case, you are in good company. xoxo,
